Rabbit holes
At times, the mind is like a warren,
Small rodents, digging land, barren,
Be careful here, remember Alice,
She fell down the rabbit hole, unmiss,
Entering into the chaotic network,
Unsure of how to navigate,
With circumspect, we investigate,
Deeper, we go darker, move forth,
Quick! follow the time burden lagomorph
Were left standing still, and lurk,
Like alices' storey, the holes shrink,
The very least it's what we think,
Our problems are getting bigger,
Frustrated, temper, hair pin trigger,
Seeing doors,...

War in Europa
Never have I seen so many well-dressed refugees
fleeing a country where few bombs fall on people.
Never have I seen a media totally unbiased
stirring up a war that has yet to produce victims.
This winter, the hungry and the cold were stopped
at the border of Poland stopped by water cannons
and dogs.
The refugees came from Libya, Afghanistan, Africa
and most of them were not pristine white one could
be forgiven thinking we are watching discrimination
of the worst type.
War is to be condemned, but the media is...

blue rabbit
unwanted
sitting in the mud
waiting for a hug
waiting for someone
even though it knows there really is none
to laugh with
to cuddle with
to be with
to love
if only
if only it wouldn't be so lonely
thrown away
yet searching for a reason to stay
searching to share the darkness
the useless uselessness
the emptiness
the mess
if only
if only she could feel mercy
but she passed by
chasing a butterfly
faded
nothing but an old cur
its once fluffy sleeky fur
now...

The Instigator
The sky over Europe is silent, but there is fear
In the heart of many and the man who started
this fear is sleepless and swims slowly in his
swimming pool.
He is seventy now and struggles with his body
wears trousers too tight, sits wide-legged
giving the impression of rugged good health
as doctors tell him, as he is fearful of dying.
Thoughts swivel in his mind; he is isolated
and suspicious of people indifferent
of his view on how the world should be run.

A Scary Close Encounter
when i was at uni, i would often hitch back to Ruthin, from Wrexham. in the summer of 1995, i had one lift that really disturbed me, as i sensed something scary about the man who had given me this lift. he was thick set, with a small moustache, and was wearing a heavy sheepskin coat, even though it was warm weather, i know this, as i'd worn some cut off jean shorts. so i started to talk about that i couldn't wait to get home to cook my girlfriend a nice meal, thus making sure that he didn't have any doubts about my sexuality. soon after he said he needed to take a different route, which meant...

The Ferryman
Death comes crawling
Slinking in when sometimes
We aren't prepared at all
Other times we welcome him
We rejoyce in his embrace
For to carry on
Would mean more anguish
I would prefer to stand proud
With my head held high
While the ferryman Charon
Took me to the other side
And the Styx, it stank like hell
The song says
"don't pay the ferryman
Till he gets you to the other side"
My debt is paid, I fear not
I go with eyes wide shut
I shake hands with the devil
And...

Many people have taken the wrong approach to the issue of the Covid-19 vaccine.
