His Prisoner
I am trapped in his prison
And I’m almost passing out
Because I haven’t been sleeping
I’ve been living on stimulants
And I haven’t been eating
Meals replaced with cigarettes
Muscles cramping from straining
To continue their daily tasks
While I hide in the dark
And face my own nightmares
I choose to lose sleep and to starve
If it means I can work through this
Fucked up scenario in my head
That speaks in double standards
Confusion questioning my sanity
He manipulates with profanity
...

Twin Beds-with Grace
In shadows beneath the bed
death among the bangers
listening to the curse
swallowing the dead
in shadows beneath the bed
of a zombie eating my shoes
from heel to tongue
a rigid corpse cold and glum
The whine of eager hunger
echoes in desolate halls
gangrenes light sweep walls
hiding the hordes of darkness
created monsters of the human mind
the safety of beds on both sides
mere desperate imagination
helpless in hopelessness
death among the bangers
listening to the curse
swallowing the dead
in shadows beneath the bed
of a zombie eating my shoes

The whine of eager hunger
echoes in desolate halls

Tell It To The Bees
When I was eight, a bee stung my face.
Tangled itself in my hair
saw me as an enemy
and shot hot venom into my skin.
My Mother ran to her screaming kid
as a moment of pure panic erupted
on Sunday’s lawn,
but the damage was done
my head throbbing, numb
where a bruise turned a vivid shade
of violet, as bold as my new fear
of small latching insects.
Fast forward thirty years
and I...

that flower (shed its skin)
not
as young
and naive
as the
year before,
eyes
watching
around himself,
possessions
tucked away,
don't
stand
too close,
i will not
be responsible.
