Haight Street Long Gone Past Ashbury
Where the purple crowd gathers
For a convocation of beggars
One holds alms cap for coins
Fresh from the heavenly mint
Hoping for Sacagawea’s progeny
As silver dollars emancipated from the pockets
Of passersby on the road to Highway miles
Where a pouch
Hangs on a stick for luck of Louisiana
“I have purple and gold in my mind”
His Baton Rouge mind blitz
Borrows my billfold
Into an opening
That unfolds like a memory
Of terracotta roofs
But his beatific...

But I'm Not Her Guy
While walking
down the street, I saw this
one blond chick smiling at me like she
knows me from somewhere before she moved closer, called
me "Jason" and was about to kiss
me on the lips but I
pulled away.
And after
I asked that chick what her
name was, she came to realize that
she mistook me for someone else because her guy
is able to remember who she
is right away but I'm
not her guy.

if only you looked around you
the victorian buildings behind the glass offices are still there - that’s the thing about glass offices, you can see right through ‘em if you care

crossing the road is the pedestrians’ test ..
don’t feel the
city streets
these days I feel the wind
and the rain and the
oncoming lorries & buses
and taxis and motorcars
that weigh my
head down
and hope for the best ..
