John Doe was the name given to the bits & pieces of a man who was murdered and scattered throughout Detroit in the summer of 1995. The first part of him to turn up was his bloody naked torso. Letter to my first
I unleashed you
into the world
with the snip of a natal chord
With tenacity we fell
in love at first sight
even then I knew this world
thru me was yours
Three played together
as I watched you
grow strong
from a feeble introduction
To hold your head high
looking up to me

no prerequisite nor question
Seems I did the teaching
but truth is

Little Girl With A Purpose
I see that little girl everyday
She always runs to wherever she's going
Xmas came and left her with a bike
Now she rides up & down the street
It seems she never gets tired
She always plays by herself
I saw her the other day standing with her bike next to all these other kids who were much older than she
She wasn't even paying attention to them
She was standing there because they were

All at once she got on her bike and sped away like she had some important place to be ...

Saturday Morning
I looked out my front door
On the other side of the street
I saw a man open up his trunk
He yelled for his kid in the house
The kid came outside, and to his joy there was a puppy dog wagging it's tail
The child who was no more then 5, lost his balance when the puppy jumped on him
The kid fell to the ground and on his ass
The dog was licking and nibbling the boy until he got a taste of the kids mouth and bit the kid's lip right off
Must have tasted the chocolate chip cookies the kid was eating while outside
There was screaming and blood everywhere...

Little do the kiddies know: he's drunk off his ass
He sways and swerves and goes into the other lane
