Morning Muse
I wake up to a silent house
the alarm cat slumbers still
walking softly on cold wood
feet melt into familial tree.
I step outside into the crisp
inhale deeply the dark sky
fields of star enfolding
follicles bristle the familiar cold.
I return to the shelter of tea
candles and incense alight
settle in to await sun’s arousal
lap abuzz with felial purr.

I pick up pen to wax poetic
place it quickly back in trough ...

My birthday has become
a time of giving and serving
It's an exchange of gratitude
for another year of living
What better way to share
than providing a home

A girl, two birds, some candy & a very large cat
Once upon a time a little girl was going to take her doll for a walk when there she was, meeting two nice little birds
She dropped them a pretty little bow and said to them,
"Good afternoon, little birds, will you play with me?"
"I have some lovely candy in my little bag"
"I'll give you some"
One of the birds said, "I have no objection"
and the other said, "Neither do I"
They enjoyed themselves very much until it was nearly evening
Then the little birds said, "We want to go away now" ...

Through the dark wood
Stood a dark house
And within this dark house
Lived a dark mouse

At this precise moment in time
Was caught within the jaws
Of a dark cat
Called Ebony
Ebony wasn't hungry

And when you least suspect it
I shall sink my claws into you
I've sat at wait for so long
Hidden plotting my next move
The air down here
So cool and tempting
And at last there you go
Naively you've let your foot stray
Stray way to far beyond the edge
And I can see your ankle
I shall take my prey
And once I have the foot
I shall not stop
Not till I eat the rest
Who is "ouch, you damn cat?"

This story starts quite odd, since I did not get involved until they called it murder.
