From Lust To Frost
From lust to frost,
romance to regret,
from fall to winter.
Our passions have wintered.
Yielding to loneliness -
this season of surrender!
Shared wintry breaths chilled our spirits.
Our fleeting emotions wintering our love.
Our passing trusts, now only wintery words.
This crestfallen experience with you!
We wilted, then can the silence of tears
which froze as visible memories on our cheeks.

LOVE DEATH DEPRIVED
art thou in meander
beloved, beneath the silver moon
boon to Hecate
nay, slave
in darkness dine
and I deprived of thee
hath thou courted him
with thy taunt
for scytheman be not spurned
after thy simper of need
thou sealeth thy doom
in death, yea, the yoke
of destiny
or hath thou scorned my love
beloved
thine eyes turned
away from mine teary countenance
for I Jealous of strange attention,
swiftly hath forsaken thee
and turned once more
to behold thee ...

Ode to the Drunk Girl, Don't Text That Man
Babe, we’ve talked about this too many times to be sane.
Put your cell phone away, there’s nothing to be gained
from texting a man who knows you miss him.
You sent the long paragraph, he doesn’t care,
which is why you’re six shots in, and I’m holding your hair.
You can’t fix him, he’s not a flat tire.
His mama should have named him “Selfish Fucking Liar”.
In fact, we’re changing his contact name to that right now.
Give me your phone, your keys, and sit your ass back down.
He forgot your birthday and didn’t know your favorite song. ...

Scintilla of Chocolate and Wine
nothing remains
but the faintest scintilla
of bitter dark chocolate
mingling scandalously
with sweet mandarin wine
~bittersweet, like the irony~
lingering mockingly
upon her tongue
long after the lights
were dimmed
and the table cleared
of offerings untouched,
left unappealing
by his sudden goodbye
~her mouth still full of unsaid words~
desperately clinging fingers
grip her glass too tightly,
a fixed point of focus
in the glorious wreckage
of a life derailed
by...
