I was more innocent than I ever knew,
Dreaming of picket fences, a life steady and true.
You were supposed to be my anchor, my safe place,
But the tides of life have washed away that space.
Growing up in chaos, I fought just to survive,
Learning to love, yet always deceived.
You seemed so stable, with your family intact;
I longed to be like that, but you turned your back.
Your loud rants, dreadful words, and hurtful hands
Ripped apart the glue that barely held my strands.

Broken spirit
You were the violent storm
Ravaging the wastelands
Of my wandering soul
Did you plan my destruction
From conception of our
Ill fated entanglement
You wanted a mindless puppet
To carry out your devious deeds
While you sat by with idle hands
I was blinded by your
Seductive sensual suggestions
Hypnotized by your forked tongue
You laid waste to my
Ideas of love and the future
With one venomous bite
Now I lie here, older but wiser
Reaching out from the rubble
Waiting...

Inexplicably
I have an odd wish
To be devoured
To be known in my entirety
studied and then, inexplicably,
I want to be destroyed.
Taste me and spit me out
But know my taste
And know it well.
My wish involves wolves
And moonlight
And dark eyeliner.
There is soft hair, inexplicably,
I want to be destroyed.
Savour me. Me, a saviour.
I want to bless the mouth
Of a starving monster
So they will never, ever
Forget the sight of me.
Nor the feel of me
Upon a rough tongue

Forget my smile
Forget my laugh
Forget my eyes
Forget all those things you said
You loved so much about me
Forget my utterly unexplainable devotion
To every little whim of yours
Because your happiness was all I wanted, all I needed
Your desires are what I lived to fulfill
Yet it wasn't enough

I held you so close
Forever feeling you'd be mine
A warm fire to
Stave off the freezing rain
But oh so slowly
We drifted away
Boats listless
Lost in the raging sea
I searched for you
In the gutters of this
Suffering world
Filled with parasites and leeches
But to no avail
My dream was gone
In a whisper not quite heard
You sank into the shadows
I had to let you go
A bright fragile butterfly
Into a hurricane
Of darkness and despair
But I will always wait ...

Secrets - Back to Lancashire (3)
After a cup of tea in Mel's flat, I return for the rest of the luggage, grab the remaining bags from the boot of my car and use the electronic keypad to get back in The Factory. Once inside, I drag my belongings to the lift at the side of the building and ride up to the top storey, watching each floor disappear through the door panel. Mel's flat faces mine across the drop. I don't like heights, though. Never have done. The surrounding valley looks tiny from the drop.

Loving and living
I lived for you
You died for me
An aching dream
I can't put to sleep
Only you knew me
All bitterness swept clean
But you sparkled that night
When we danced within our dreams
We needed nothing else
But to wrap within each other
Hiding tears falling into the drain
Of a rusted hearts gutter
But we lived beyond parallels
Gazing past the stars
In need for nothing
Because we were everything
To exist is inevitable
To live is exceptional

Here be Monsters
Alone in the darkness
lashed by waves
my ship lay splinted on the shoals of despair
pulled out to sea by tides and tears
The cataclysm of lost love tears the world in two
as heaven explodes
with talons of air rending the seas
breathing water instead of air
at last I find solace in the dark abyss
Only to wake on the shores of a new land
a land promising a future and a forgotten past
yet the peace and apathy of the lotus tree
left me empty and incomplete
So I begin building a new ship
to sail the seas once...
