I began to quiver

I sit on the platform, alone in the dust,
Where the wind whispers secrets, and the earth turns to rust.
I chose this place, far from the crowd,
A ghost of a dream, where hope’s still loud.
We spoke of a future, a place to call ours,
But now it’s just silence, beneath the cold stars.
I build on this land, so barren and dry,
Where the echoes of “us” are the only reply.
I turn to the road, where nothing appears,
Just the empty horizon stretching for years.
The silence stretches like a noose around me,
A soldier lost, or perhaps...

When it happened, I was very angry and I was also stunned.
My wife filed for a divorce just because Donald Trump won.
My wife is smart, sophisticated and she's also very pretty.
But I learned that she's also superficial, shallow and petty.
My mother always told me to appreciate what I've got.

Healing
Healing is such a complicated journey as no human being is given the same hand of cards to play in the game of life.
I always thought that with time, the wounds from a perticular breakup, would hurt less and the blood would dissipate in a vague memory tucked in its own understanding of the traces it left behind.
I never came to terms with why that specific relationship, affected my soul in such a powerful manner. The colors were brighter with him and the melody euphonious. Aromas of life exhilirated my spirit, whenever he was around.

A Terrible Depth
Every beautiful surface has a terrible depth. - unknown
The mysterious formation
of pristine turquoise glaciers
in my heart.
Are the monuments of all
my cold goodbyes.
The terrible ache of the chaos of life,
broke off an island of ice
seeking the why.
The tip of the iceberg is
frozen shards of what's left behind.
Sinking voyaging thoughts
from the dark depths of my mind.
