while sitting in
a burger joint
looking out at
this gulf of mexico s
sunny blue green
horizon line
while munching on
a veggie burger
writing down
sweet words of heart
as they gently arise
here now
upon these little cards
for you
i briefly pause
to take a sip of soda
as a classic old
connie francis hit tune
comes on
the restaurant s radio
i suddenly notice
in the stillness
of this relatively surreal
passing...

Those Eyes, His Eyes.
Those eyes.
His eyes.
They look at me as though I were made of magic.
There's this expression he wears as he watches me.
It's a mixture of awe and pure love.
Eyes almost glisten with adoration.
In that moment I am caught off guard.
You see, only he has ever seen me like this.
Only he has looked upon me with such sterling intimacy.
I feel weightless in his gaze.
As though my feet have left the ground.
Soul naked while my body remains clothed.
There's danger in such raw vulnerability.
Yet, I will risk utter ruin.

turbulent tides, couldn’t sail them

eyes so wide, fatigued
an empty abyss of marine layer

How do I tell you that I miss you
Or that I wonder what we could have been?
I can't even be sure if this feeling is real
Or if I'm just in love with daydreaming.
All I know is I'm lonely;
In the silence, I hear my thoughts screaming.
Your mood swings and mine combined
Make for a hell of a playground.
They all tell me that you were crazy bout me,
But some part of me refuses to believe it's true.
A man could try to spoil me,
And to reject it seems like the only thing to do.
I can't figure out which of us are to blame, ...
