Sweet Sixteen
In the dance of youth, I turned sweet sixteen,
Already I’d been tempted by love's subtle gleam.
Did I feel regret or a sad haunting tune
Because I had shared my young body too soon?
Intimacies scattered like petals in the dirt.
My life was so littered by a past filled with hurt.
Each kiss that I gave seemed to cover my sadness.
And the loves that I made became my own madness.

Seven days until heartache
Seven days from now, it'll be here
A day of heartache, a day of tears
The anniversary of a broken heart
A wound that never truly departs
We should be celebrating, your first year
With cakes and candles, laughter and cheer
But instead, we're left with empty hands
And memories of you, only in our plans
We should be singing, happy birthday songs
But instead, we're left with mournful songs
Of what could have been, what should have been
But fate had a different plan, it seems
We should be blowing out candles, making...

Cendra's Birthday Parties
Cendra had an unusual last name
Skin shades darker than mine
Parents years older than most.
No siblings.
She was confident and self-assured.
Additional qualities I found exotic.
I liked being around her.
Her 11th (12th?) birthday was at Gooney Golf
There was a giant dinosaur at the entrance.
The last hole was an igloo.
Even if you missed, it captured your ball at the end.
Gone.
After miniature golf, we went back to Cendra's house for cake.
At her decree, we smeared frosting on our faces.
When her...

A Soft Serenaded Birthday Wish
Behind every great man there is the rite of passage of his ancestors guiding the pilgrimage of his vision on
The mantra of his presence becomes the cornerstone of his generational songs
The strength of his heart speaks in the creed when his soul must atone
The core of an enigmatic mind, as he lends the pulsate of his dreams and his inspirations to the world
Careful to stand his ground as civilization upon his head unfurls
He is the tree that has stood the test of time, arrogant in his stance, fiercer than a stalking wolverine
The roots of his Hebrew loins...

Limerick- I First f**ked in Ninety-Three
Janice's (Nizana's) Birthday Limerick June 3, 2017 40th Birthday
I first fucked in ninety-three
Always giving myself for free.
Some call me a whore
Always ready for more.
Come take a ride and you’ll see.

In Order To Drive Those Two Crazy
Suzanne came to
Heather's place
to model a
new dress she planned to wear
to Richard's birthday bash
to show him what he had
thrown away in favor of Susan.

It was my Birthday
In this kaleidoscope of vibrant hues
a season of transformation as autumn
the keen eye beholds what others may miss
revealing truths that the heart cannot ignore
Memories flow like ethereal apparitions
as my mind ascends to distant memories
unraveling the depths of my existence
engulfed in waves lost in a sea of thoughts
No solace found its a distant shore
only frigid waters icy to the core
fire burns within while ice caresses my skin
haunted dreams persist pushing away peace
the candles on the cake burns ...

Diary Entry - Time and Conscience
Diary entry for October 14, 2023
I was browsing photos and came across this one from a year ago. I wish I could crawl into that girl’s head and give her some advice.
I would say, “You’ll soon find the love you’ve dreamed of. If you don’t control your overactive libido, you could drive him away.”
But I have driven him away. Shane is gone and I’m a 26-year-old carrying a married man’s child. Still, when I feel myself falling back toward depression, I tell myself life is worth living.
The passing of time and my conscience tell me I should bring the...

The Crucifix
The Crucifix
By Michael McManus
In cloistered halls where wisdom's light does gleam,
A nun bestowed a gift, a sacred dream,
A crucifix of wood, a symbol pure,
To bless and guide, its meaning to endure.
With tender words, she bid me go,
To priest's abode, where blessings freely flow,
I took the cross, entrusted in my care,
To seek the priest's solemn blessing there.
Returned, the crucifix, now blessed anew,
I placed it in the nun's kind hands, her due.
Yet on my birthday's dawn, a joy untold,
The nun returned...

Another Birthday
The passing of another year snuck up on me a few days ago. Life’s been complicated but in the middle of the mess, I turn a year older today. I think I'll stay here a little while longer.
Twenty-six years ago, my mother pressed me to her breasts for the first time. She told me she cried when she first saw me and didn’t want to let me go when the nurse said it was time.
“I didn’t expect you to lunge for me the next time they brought you in.” She said with a smile. “You had a passion for life and insatiable appetite from the beginning.”
She told me that the...
