Glass Adults
My childhood
My sisters
My menagerie
Consumed
————————-
We grow up
Relationally developed
Our needs
Valid
Yet
We base
Our value
On performance
Our self-worth
Pushed to the side
Conditioned to please
Our compass
Lost
Fragile
Glass babies
Become
Hand blown
Glass adults
On the verge
Of shattering
Daily
My sisters
My menagerie
Consumed

Valid
Yet

Our self-worth
Pushed to the side

Generation HeXed
Ex-husband
ex-wife
ex-friends
nothing you do is good
you are Generation Hexed!
ex-band members
ex-partyer
ex-athlete
a stream of bad luck
you are Generation Hexed!
You need exercise
always exhausted
MTV is lame
the music you like is shit
exiled from relevance
expired by 1994
you're bald and blubbery
get exterminated
get executed
Generation Hexed!

the color of dreams
kaleidoscope dreams lie
they color my dreams hopeful
in patterns and shapes that delight
they soothe me in my twilight hours
then I awaken to gray
gone are the azure blues of the oceans I love
that I will probably never live near
and the greens of the forests that feed my soul
that I've not visited or seen in fifteen years
the colorless flavor of my world is depressing
I live in the country it's beautiful and quiet
it can also be lonely
my passions are red hot while sleeping
then I wake to a bed...

Blame it on Age
Choose your words wisely
I’ve heard more times
than can count
Yet, each one we choose
equals one less sound
we’ll ever make
We are wells
running out of ink
or quills
whose tip frays
There’s only so much
it can write
and so much less
we’ll ever speak
Choose your words wisely
For they may be your last
I’ve heard more times
than can count
Yet, each one we choose
equals one less sound
we’ll ever make
We are wells
running out of ink
or quills
whose tip frays
There’s only so much

I saw myself in you
It's remarkable really
I've lived many years beyond yours
Yet watching you live in the present
Brings back my memories
Often we're talking in different directions
Eager to share experiences
I've lived what you're about to ..
Part extraordinary part wreckage
Had a BIG birthday yesterday
I feared that age, the # and all
Didn't make it public on social media
Just wanted to hear from real friends
Back to you though
I'm significant in your life
You in mine
We manage each other, care

no joke...

I got a few questions
been on my mind a minute
just keep building
so I'm gonna put them out there
see where it gets me
can't they come up with some kinda fix-a-flat
who do we see about that
cuz lately...
the girls aren't feeling as elevated
looking a bit tired
deflated
I want my bounce back
these days it seems like everything sags
& if I gotta pee
don't even look sideways at me
takes that trickle down effect...
to a whole other level
it's a serious situation

I AM STILL LEARNING
DISCOVERY
I use to think
I knew it all until
someone asked
me a question.
When I swaggered down
the steps of the university
with my BA in my hand,
the world said, "Sit down
and I'll teach you the
rest of the alphabet."
WAKE-UP
It has been a wonderful
journey since the day
I realized how wonderful
it is to be a continual
learner in the never
ending School of Life.
I'm still learning to live
every day admiring the
beauty in the garden
of life where I have been...

It's not over when you lose
From within the inner vibes of my life, 🤔 I had to come to accept what my life, has and will become for with each reason. I had to fight back with MY OWN strength and courage as my.personal devil's.😈 Be standing in the darkness, as they hide behind a mask. THAT entered into the deepness of my life, as well as my body and mind. 😞 For sure I remember that day as if it just happen yesterday, 🤔 when my whole life changed right before my own eyes 👁️ 👁️ For I remember that moment when the pain became to hard to 🐻 and sleepless...

Kids
Our ancient wooden coffee table has bite marks on every edge.I never saw the little buggers doing it, but they did.
The carpet, expensive all those years ago,is now worn and stained in many places.I never saw the little buggers doing it, but they did.
The walls and doors
have all got dings in them from someone.I never saw the little buggers doing it, but they did.
Now the home is empty and every piece of it tells a story.
I never saw the little buggers leave, but they did.

Retiring Minds
Trump's a freak for speed, like his Nazi muse,
and mien apples plummet close to the plan
whereby injustice lights a public fuse
to stroke the puny ego of a man
willing to extinguish millions of lives
in the service of nostalgic notions
cherry picked from the dubious archives
of baby-boom perma-fry devotions
who wouldn't trust people over thirty
when they were protesting a war
the establishment made down and dirty
like a coked-up big business Wall Street whore.
The decades didn't alter morality
as much as...

Poor Little Posey
I stopped to look at some flowers today.
A simple act, to be certain.
I bent down,
with great trepidation of not getting back up,
to smell their scent.
The fragrances were heady and aromatic. Refreshing and pure.
The feel of the petals were luscious and smooth, soft and comforting.
I found myself comparing them to my favorite velvet blanket. The one I use only for decoration.
The same variety of flower in the next bed had been overwatered causing them to wilt and droop over.
They appeared lifeless...
