Today is the day
Valentine's Day everyone
Grab your partner and have a great time
When ordering at that fancy restaurant
Make sure when ordering Clams, Penne and Alfredo sauce,
There's no side order of Gonorrhea, Chlamydia or Genital Warts
V.D. or Venereal Disease can infect & destroy
Be honest, be upfront, play it safe so you can enjoy
On Halloween you tell the kids to be cautious
Some VD can make you sick, some can make you nauseous
To all at DUP, have a great evening.

Got up same time
Took out the trash
Went to CVS
Bought card and dark chocolate for the wife

Watched Meet the Press

Drank coffee

Pretty much like any other day
Still special in meaning

I entertained Cupid's standard dream
Saint Valentine induced in me
Where both were drinking Bailey's cream...
And celebrating amity.
They had careers and sexy wives
And perfect homes in heaven above
For spying on our mortal lives...
Of overcomplicated love.
Every day they would conspire
To clog the web with another post
About blue pills for more desire
From the father, son, and holy ghost.
But all the while what went unmarked
Was what...

Valentine's day came & went
like I give a shit about that
but they were concerned
I was on my own
I've never celebrated, as a matter of fact
I call it a Hallmark holiday...
and they already have enough sitting in the bank
chocolate & flowers...

but i dislike the fundamentalism
of the word 'romantic'

pre-conceived notions
expectations
disappointment
