It must have been love
Music plays
Life delays
Tears fall
Trying to crawl
I remember back
Life was on track
A girl named Megan
Not even a pagan
But I let her in
Showed all my sin
She had disgust
Took all my lust
Brought me pain
Made me insane
Cut, burned, and broken
Sold like a fucking token
But I couldn’t leave
No matter what she cleaved
Tried to have family
I can’t... not me
After every test
She just left
I couldn’t move on
Even see the dawn
So many years
And fears
Always alone ...
Life delays
Tears fall

A screen shows me the artist just died
Fuck... I can’t believe how hard I cried
A song about love... beautiful but wicked
I did what she said... but my way was twisted

I did it all without a thought about cost

The only sound from the mocking birds cries,
As night falls in she begins her chants,
On the centenary of those who came and they died…

Addict
My stomach's feeling rather queezy again.
Drunk on your half-truths and excuses.
Or maybe it's just the oxys I put in me,
after a long night of pretending I wouldn't die for you.
I sing along to your favourite songs,
but we both know it resembles the screaming in my heart.
I'm fortunate enough for it to keep me awake
on the nights I haven't fell victim to your sleep paralysis.
You come and go like fragmented flashbacks.
Quick moments like the decent of a falling star.
And I've sat here settled in lacklustered contentment, ...

Idle Conversation
Twice a day these hands on the clock are taunting.
The hour she puts on his favourite performance,
and pretends he hasn't left her in pieces.
Broken promises sprinkled to the ground like freshly fallen Snow.
Finally freezing what was left of her memories,
but forgetting to slow her ice encased heartbeat.
Small talk just doesn't feel the same in moments of unbearable longing..
One minute feels more like a life-time,
But he just keeps trying to convince her that,
"all we have is time."
The hour she puts on his favourite performance,

I was weak
Helpless
With broken wings
This wounded heart
Still beating
For a soul to love

Nursed me

and I know that to your ears
you may hear a sweeter sound
reminding you of your power

I just wish you saw past yourself
and the uselessness of "power"

As panic grips
My heart is struck
This must be the place
Where fires start
Your burning down my defences
I say goodnight
But these thoughts of you
Will not sleep
