MEETING IN POETS DREAM LAND
YES,
"Parting is such sweet
sorrow." The thought
of being on "death row"
with 20 hours left, is
sad and tearful because
poets,, regardless of status,
have a DNA that is different.
WE
have become one with a
spiritual haven among the
galaxies of "bards."
Every time we think words,
read words, or write words
there will be a connection
with DUP graduates who
meet in dream land still
waiting for our Muses to give
us directions.
AS
the first word emerges the
spirit...

Silent Passage of Love
They say that in every day of ever moment, a connection is born out of love and desire, like a shadow that reflects off the walls, 🧱 shutting the doors, 🚪 cutting off any chance of escaping, from the deepness of the darkness. For sure sometimes some things, are forbidden and sometimes they aren't but yet, we find ourselves drawn, within the mist of lust of forbidden attraction. It's like the feel of a strong magnet 🧲 attractive to the very deepness of your soul. Yet still we don't pay attention, to all of the signs just thinking it's nothing, but fear of the darkness....

you don't think about it much
not when everything still hurts
what happens after
you focus on the pain
bruises...burns...& fractures
on getting through that day
& the next
trying to understand what went wrong
was it you...or them
or a toxic combination
but when wounds stop aching
& shadows fall back
horizon looking a little brighter
that's when possibility presents itself
& your head tips to one side
in silent contemplation
&...

The Day We Said Goodbye
It was a very cold winter day
Still I couldn’t tell you if it was sunny or gray
Such irrelevance was far in the back of my mind
It would’ve been dark even if the sun did shine
So often we're in the place we least want to see
But there’s nowhere else that we’d rather be
They said you were dying, a sin to keep you alive
Our hearts ripped to pieces deciding what was right
It turned out to be the day we said goodbye ...

Life Ain't Black nor White
Between the yes and no,
there stretches a field
where answers grow
like wildflowers, untamed,
their colors bleeding
into the wind.
The heart knows no absolutes,
only the weight of almost,
the whisper of what if,
the ache of not quite.
Truth is not a line,
but a tide
pulling, retreating,
never the same shore twice.
We are all shades of maybe,
flickering in the gray,
where love and loss
taste the same
on trembling lips.
So do not ask for...

Melt the Frost
Sometimes we lose our minds
Trapped between two walls colliding
Feels like you will be crushed
A war between two sides are fighting
Crash and burn just like a car
Explosion within, the world's on fire
A hose is needed to put it out
The situation is getting dire
We try to make it out
From the depths of hell below
Lost in an endless maze
Nowhere for you to go
Trapped beneath the waves
Held down by all your fear
Afraid you will lose it all
The devil will then appear
It's hard to find hope ...

Heartstrings Can Be Troublesome Things
It’s the innocence about the times that I miss most
The way they used to look up
The little voices pulling at the heart
When I used to drive by that church on Washington
There was a moon at the top of the steeple
His little voice would cry out “the moon daddy, the moon”
There was some comfort in hearing that
Yet I knew deep down inside as time would go by
All that would fade away
But that was years ago…
It was as we walked through the museum
That his silence pierced through me
His indifference growing

The Cook
Among pots and pans
The heat of an oil stove
Not a place for dreaming
He saw the glittering sea
That had a cooling breeze
On its surface
For years, the open door
Was his freedom
Where does the ocean begin
The sea life ended
Jamaica was his destiny
A youthful dream coming true
Love only comes once
But its ember continues
Will he find where the ocean is?
Begins?
