Siren's Call
Do you hear that?
It calls to me across the sea
With every rolling wave
The melody whispers to me
I fear to a watery grave
It's so sad you can't hear,
the song of desperate love.
The siren plea,
Heard internally.
Resonate in the sky above.
Do you feel it?
If you cannot hear.
It pulls you to come near.
I can see in your eyes,
What you cannot hide.
It only calls to those,
Who are willing to hear.
The song has stopped.
A salty tear fell.
The love she called to,
Had Never...

Aubade for Nyx
Rain laden clouds are clearing out
and there's a bluing in the east
where morning skies seem like they shout...
"Begone midnight! You are deceased!".
And scattered puffs are turning pink
or that old fashioned rosy gold
when solar beams are on the brink
of darkness in its casket, cold,
where it sleeps on native soil
to rise once more within hours
when night again shuffles coil
with dark matter and strange powers...
in constant rotation, there and here,
like verse within a sonneteer.
and there's a bluing in the east
where morning skies seem like they shout...

Evening's Come
The sun's last long rays have descended and are lost in the lengthening shadows
And evening's come,
That dusky twilight before the night when all things ease,
Then quiet,
Gathered in before the dark.
There is a stillness now
Within which all things seem balanced to a common end.
Evening,
And half dreamt thoughts gentle nudge the corners of my mind
And I grasp at them even as they dance away again.
Recollections which whisper to the spirit and tease the soul.

Not Yet Swans
We were fooled last week
when so many things outside
were tipped in green
And though darkness is
your favorite color,
you disrobed from it
and kicked it under the bed
As you accepted Spring
to your bosom
as you shook your hair back
and offered your throat
to the kiss of something
renewing
all of your tips to pink
At first, I felt like a bird
fidgeting upon your window ledge
(edge of the bed)
I suffered the settling
for at least bread crumbs
Two pieces, ...
when so many things outside

After sunset is when
I see them best
Steady streams of light
While I’m flying to you
Orbiting across the night
Before the sunrise
Its gravitational pull

In relayed radio waves
Grazing the airplane
On my way to see you
In the mid-west

How Can I Make you Believe?
I only have the mouthless moon,
and then
the silent arc of distant stars,
to stand as witnesses on my behalf
that when I say I am in love with you
I do not lie.
I cannot help but wonder if
you will believe my words
so unattested as they are
by works,
and spoken from
a country far away?
How, I ask, did others in the past
make known when distance was
a barrier to deeds
the fact their love professed was real
and come to be believed
as speaking truth?
Was their voice as small, ...
and then

Perhaps
While you,
My Mystic Muse,
So graciously,
In words,
Adorn
The thought
Of being
You,
As might our
Natures do,
One flower
And one thorn,
Please
Contemplate
Just this,
That hearing
Motions
In your heart,
The syllables
To sweep,
Just a thought,
Our windings
Sought
May then allow
Some hum
Harmonic oscillations
For our spirits
In the deep.
Perhaps
While you,
