Delusional
I know in the deepest trench of my brain
This isn't real.
I know I shouldn't let this delusion run my mind
We are just
In seperate states
States of emotion
States of vaunerability
States of mental back and fourth
You clasp my heart
I hold yours
Keeping it in a lock box bubblewrapped double strapped
Soft to the touch
But hits me in the chest like freight train at full speed .
I don't want to live in reality
Diluted to delusions
This is where I want to stay .
This isn't real.
I know I shouldn't let this delusion run my mind
We are just
In seperate states
States of emotion
States of vaunerability
States of mental back and fourth
You clasp my heart
I hold yours
Keeping it in a lock box bubblewrapped double strapped
Soft to the touch

Where I Lie
As I look up at the night sky, I see exactly where I lie.
Right there in the darkness, far away from all the lights.
Where the void is vast, and not a twinkle in sight.
I shiver outside in the cold, wondering the how and the why.
Refusing to think, that this was all just a lie.
I guess I am where I am, solely alone on this night.
Not a conversation to be had, but the one within my mind.
Slightly afraid, to figure out what it is that I'll find.
But I remain optimistic, that there is still a you and I.

Baiting The Wind
She came as a cool autumn breeze, blowing about wildly and free.
Her presence touched every inch of me, from my head down to my feet.
She whispered in my ear, faint sounds that I could barely make out.
Other than the words I love you, that, I felt without a doubt.
She easily moved everything around me, from the tallest trees to the smallest blades of grass.
But it all stopped suddenly, so I sit here pondering and I ask,
"Where did my wind go? Why did it have to go by so fast?
I've contemplated plans of capture to perfection, baiting a kite for the next...

Waves continued to make the ship sway
I remembered her face
Her smile that shines like stars
Hair that matched the sun
My voyage had just begun
“I’ll see you someday “
Or at least that’s what I said
Without actually knowing
If that day will come
Will I make it home

Out at sea
Without ever meeting my baby?

Since he left me
To follow his dream of being at sea
This light house gets cold
It’s wood floors creak and the stairs are old
I read to myself of stories I’ve been told
Thousands of times
I wonder what it’s like
Living out at sea
The days continue to go by,
I hardly remember our goodbye
The touch of his lips
The salty air
Freezing me out without a care
As I held him for one last embrace
I stared at his old brief case

there is something in my eye
just a single tear
one shed for every lost year
With these promises made
kept cool in the shade
of a deliberate indifference
with its ambivalent insistence
For that is how it must look
to those outside this nook
outside the sleepy glen
where I wield my pen
Since I need nothing more
than the bold life of a troubadour
penning these lines of old
yet unwilling to be undersold
Following where my heart leads

a vast distance kept ever near
Wondering who you really are

on winter nights bone cold

not this one you think you see
