I'm drowning
It is raining dreams..
and there are ponds of sleep..
I was standing on the shore,
now I am drowning like a stone...
The outside world
is drowning in sunlight...
my heart is drowning in fish bubbles..
I had faith in the surging waves,
now I am sliding like sand in dark depth…
I used to fly like a white butterfly
in the moonlight,
now I'm frozen like a dried drop...
The sun and the romantic dusk
have set up their camp
till now I was floating
on the petals of flowers
now I am drowning...
and there are ponds of sleep..
I was standing on the shore,
now I am drowning like a stone...
The outside world
is drowning in sunlight...
my heart is drowning in fish bubbles..
I had faith in the surging waves,
now I am sliding like sand in dark depth…
I used to fly like a white butterfly
in the moonlight,
now I'm frozen like a dried drop...
The sun and the romantic dusk
have set up their camp
till now I was floating
on the petals of flowers
now I am drowning...

Selfness
Selfness
Emotional
Home for pleasure and pain
Dominant and shaping the brain
A journey of fathomless feels unleashed
An abiding pounding of life
Roaring whenever stirred
Irrational
Selfness
Selfness
Spiritual
A high yielding to God
A mysterious ascendant Self
A home for a radiating compassion
Inner power of healing Faith
Wrapping peace of silence
Mystic allure

..days that never
seem to arrive
...a past that never
wants to leave
life
sometimes it's as cold and
useless as a dead man's ass.
there
I've said it out
loud

seem to arrive

Pandora’s Box (A Humbly Response)
There are various dimensions of religion theologies, for me to name, and several religion forums for me to entertain your thoughts. However, you stated. ‘All Christians quote from the Bible’ in as much, any person who walks this planet, accepts the preference of his or her religion, and dutifully adhere to its teaching.
In addition, only in your mind, Heaven does not exist. For many, other than atheists, what or should I say who we call our Deity, is a personal choice, and to seek a higher existence is by faith.

caught a bus
went to the shop
bought a bottle of scotch
and a newspaper
full of bad stuff

Asheville
I spent a week with no power after hurricane Helene swept up through Florida and Georgia, and into South Carolina. The lower end of the neighborhood flooded when the Saluda river overflowed and backed up the creek. A lot of trees and powerlines down. There were gas lines and then food lines as restaurants reopened. We weren't expecting what we got. We took a hit.
We took a hit but western North Carolina and eastern Tennessee took a beat down. This past weekend I joined a group of volunteers and went to Asheville to help do what we could do. Restaurants were closed due to lack...

Why?
When I see you cry,
I see an ocean
in your eyes,
drowning you from inside.
A tempest raging;
scarlet scarring your skies...
Heat of your pain
like a thick fog
damping your sight...
A silent scream
"O god why..."

No poem today
There shall be no poem today.
The thoughts will not be corralled.
I’m an amateur sheepdog
running circles
yapping aimlessly
at an unruly flock,
each going their own way.
So, sorry – there’s no poem here.
There shall be no poem today.
We’re out of stock.
And the sun shining through the spider plant
on the windowsill
is casting a highly disorganized shadow,
as my brain’s fingers
also reach randomly
in too many unfocused directions.
There’s just no poem to be found.

Not a Good Time to Ask
Hi, want to hear all my problems? Pull up a chair.
I'll be nice and make it quick: My teaching job is ridiculous- monolinguals, 5th graders who read on a kindergarten level, behaviorally disturbed kids- and I'm supposed to customize lessons for all 57 of them when I don't even have my prep time most days. And yesterday was our first lockdown (not a drill). Whee! I went from 7 AM to 3:15 without peeing. Isn't that cool? And my mom is dying. But I'm still funny. Ha ha!
How are you?

White Ink
The poem unwritten
has me smitten.
Curious of what it would say
on a day like today.
When I am at my worst
and the first
thing on my mind upon waking
is taking
on more hours of sleep.
I keep
dozing off between thoughts.
I have been caught
and cradled by depression.
Tears gather as my expression
because I cannot speak.
I am too weak
to pick up a pen
and write again.
Inspiration has not bitten,
leaving the poem unwritten.
has me smitten.

Dust Bowl Lovers
Dust Bowl Lovers
Dust devils dance for rain
Her mason jar moxie
Turns pears into preserves
That can his worries
Of the lean season
With irrigation by a nearby river
Whose water will fill the rows
Of wheaten Lazarus
With her kitchen cornucopia
No mere manna
But an earthly sustenance
To fuel the labor he loves
But when she needs his touch
To fill the lonely hours
That shorten her breath
He lends his steel to her softness
Like a knight in the midst of chivalry
Whose creative anachronism
Is...
