A Keeper Of The Flame
It's not about "bs" or jive
I have a "sacred" duty to keep our stories alive
I follow where the tale goes
through our collective highs and lows
Like a torch bearer, my words make their rounds
to hamlets, villages cities and towns
I am driven by the work I do
in hopes to inspire the next Hughes or Angelou
My only claim to fame
is that I am a keeper of the flame
I have a "sacred" duty to keep our stories alive
I follow where the tale goes
through our collective highs and lows
Like a torch bearer, my words make their rounds
to hamlets, villages cities and towns
I am driven by the work I do

My only claim to fame

Jaime's Ballad
Jaime slammed on pop
Time to douse his ears
Together, together…. Together
They had been together
But over their beach holiday
just last week, they’d scrabbled
over who’d do the dishes,
pay for meals, walk the pooch
Two years, they’d been together
Most of all, they split
over Jaime’s aims to be a star
The star
The greatest voice of the zeitgeist
Jaime was mostly certain
that was what “zeitgeist” meant
They sliced in two over whether
Jaime should focus on work instead ...

Pink Roses
I have seen the world and been of the world. Only, every bite of the world begot more hunger.
I have worn pants and climbed as far as the ladder. With a full-on career in service, I feel most empty even with a positive balance in the account.
My dreams are now of pink roses; a small country house by the lake facing the mountain, a partner to keep me laughing and these beautiful triplets complete my joy!"
I had thought to feed the world. Instead, the world made a feast on me.
It's only in My Lord Jesus Christ I'm sate.

Creature of the Night
The calendar's ruthless march takes a toll
and each year there's less vinegar to piss.
Yet maturity may prove sweetly droll
and that I will accept in lieu of bliss.
That major muscle group bombast of youth,
wherein the vinegar was the fuel,
had me so embarrassingly uncouth
you'd have been better off with a mule.
Now, sometimes, towards the end of a day
that inelegant vigor seems misplaced.
Time is no captain's order to belay
and so, what I have left I must not waste.
Therefore, of slumber, a...

PEOPLE OF LITTLE CARE
PEOPLE OF LITTLE CARE
The truth of life asks man to strain
to grasp its words which are too blurred.
Though man is prompt to waste his time,
he gives it just a little while.
Where are the clouds that passed the sky
in previous years and left no marks?
Did they deserve to photograph
and keep their shapes in weeping eyes?
Are people passing just like them
at times they're tinted by the sun,
but often left to get too dark
and make the earth's noon like night?
Does not the truth of life deserve
to be more...

THE WISE CHOICE
THE WISE CHOICE
Mary, you're a sublime woman.
Your sacrifice is not little.
You've agreed to be a mother
through a miracle from heaven.
Life is full of doubtful people,
but your faith has endless power
that can see the divine matters
and not care about the human.
What can people give a person
save what can assure his presence
on the earth which is a period
that elapses just like seconds?
You have chosen what has made you
lead all mankind to require
inner comfort which is endless
and escape from...

Waiting for Clarity
Time will lift the eyes
above the clouds.
Vapors glaze over the lenses.
Blink, and crystals set in the corner of the lids.
It's hard to see through the clouds
what your sun will look like.
If you decide to grab a sun from behind the visor of the clouds,
you might catch a satellite
and be tossed on a circular flight in low orbit
'round, 'round the place to which you had fallen before.
But enough of earth and the feelings you felt.
You've made it far as the clouds.

Embracing Self-Love: A Journey of Power and Peace
In the virtual world, I've found my retreat,
Building New Orleans, a dream complete.
Hours spent crafting, letting my spirit mend,
In this digital haven, my heart can truly ascend.
When, my heart was cast away, my muse gone astray,
I questioned myself, why unlovable, did I sway?
But I've discovered a truth, bold and profound,
I am lovable, with self-love, I'm truly unbound.
They said, "You're too much," a familiar refrain,
Yet, it's their limitations, their loss, their disdain.
For I've embraced self-love, a powerful...

>¡* >¡* >¡* dreaming
All that we see or seem is but a dream
within a dream.”―Edgar Allan Poe
mine are not nighttime pillow dreams
that are, at daybreak, fled;
they come forth, bursting at the seams,
when slumberfest is dead.
my eyes are open widest, when
i gaze upon the face
of destinations far from men

Cultivators Rule This Place
I want to live
To walk along your streets as if a beggar
No story of upcoming ventures
No past to endlessly endeavor
Provide for those who will not pay a Thing back
I walk this place with change in pockets
Blessings to spread if I can
I have sought not
I ask for not
All I want
Has been provided
And as I sit
In sanctuary
Watching nearby
As peace is divided
I help my neighbor
Living in close quarters
Generations under one roof
The elderly
Wanting for healthy
Days only...

Paradxicality
we often get what we need
not always what we want
sometimes
we get what we want
by asking for it
by working for it
by creating it
sometimes
we don’t get it at all
find what you’re seeking
by closing your eyes
heal your self
by helping others to heal
stay on your path
by listening to your gut
connect with the universe
by disconnecting your mind
desires are not needs
important to know the difference

Nomad
what you loved as a child
less interesting now as an adult
what would you
like to change?
things occupying
attention now
will cease to
sooner or later
what would you
like to preserve?
remain a wanderer
be a nomad
fly walk sail
over all the world
or within
your mind
wander ceaselessly
what are you searching for?
we are destined to outgrow everything
experiences in the world make us who we are
what we are will make us
what we will...
