Help You Unwind
Nine days seems like an eternity
Without your presence near
Living feels like some absurdity
I’m not thinking very clear
Time can’t pass by fast enough
I’m on pins and needles
You know it’s been so rough
I even consulted The Beatles
Nothing seems to fill the void
Binge writing love poetic
Talking to me till I’m annoyed
Not even close to copacetic
Sunday is etched in my mind
I promise to help you unwind
Without your presence near

Jennifer, who would ever think that your trail would end at K-Mart
Did anyone tell you?
If you were alive right now
I mean if your brains hadn't been blown out of your skull with that shotgun you put to it
Would you have believed you would have done such a thing?
Jennifer, you didn't see what I saw
Oh girl,
Some kid had a hunk of your brains in a cheeseburger wrapper and was showing it to people
I went to the place where you shot yourself
You know the place I'm talking about
You were there about 26 hours before me

exciting lush, pink plaything
loved above measure
desired in the hell of my choice
you designed the torture to free me
and as a knee, knee Queen
I aim to please
conjuring some roughhousing
in the eternal scorn, we have a reckoning
it's just us Big Man
you need some sexual healing
blow off steam inside me
our descendants have been busy with surprises
riding that crazy wavelength like they do
first I call in the seductresses
male and female after our kind
they ache with the need
affectionate smile ...

He knew Butkowski
He’s had a life I can only imagine
Not glamorous by any means
But he lived
He’s an excellent poet
And interesting as all get out
Sometimes mistakes make the man

My eighty year old friend
I’ll let his work speak for itself

slight change of plans...
we had a plan
reservations made
in the works for months
bringing your sweetie to you
she made a bucket list
& you were at the top
a homecoming...of sorts
revisit all the old haunts
going to Morey's & get your favorite fish
those special cheeses you always used to get
A&W with New York Vanilla ice cream floats
just like the old days...in better times
before everything changed in life
we were coming...I swear
but the universe had other ideas
so we had to pivot quickly

I already forgot your name
then I hear the rustle of leaves
and that wind so jealous
pulling your hair
and reminding me of your voice
everything in the stones spells your name
everything in the fire supposes your eyes
water boils and air evaporates
just to make me remember
that I can't forget you
I turn to the side and try to ignore the light
ineffective attempt to lull my sleep
to dissolve me into an eternal dream
lullabies that I never sang
that I never heard from you

Closing my eyes feeling you overwhelm every cell.
Repeating mentally: "Just don't let go."
Tie me tightly and hold me here, this cell you put me in.
Reflecting the embodiment of your darkest desires.
I'm yours. I will melt with the dawn and disappear ...
But while I'm around, I whisper to you, as if in delirium:
Embroider me with the roughness of your fingers, flip through me.
Do whatever you want - just don't let go as I shake and vibrate!
