What Freadom?
You had it before you was born.
You new of it up until you was five.
You started fighting for it at 6 just to get some releif at 18.
You start to hear of it again at 19 & begin to fight again.
You win some releif at 21 yet never really winning until your dead.
It comes momentarily & yet tooken away instantly in America.

Bureaucracy’s Balm is Anarchy
Before you clutch your pearls,
remember how we got here.
If you heed how history’s unfurled
you would withhold your jeer.
How many now are dead?
From the maze of red tape,
or the money they bled
for insurance’s rape?
A whole nation strangled
by billionaires’ boots,
behind a curtain star-spangled
as rot creeps through our roots.
There are few things anymore
that have no price tag.
Wilderness is lost to lore,
another victim of our flag.
So tell me elders please,
why should I...

every year I look forward to the day
have a shirt and throwback pack
with the red, white, and blue
even stood by as year after year
things got worse
like a bad relationship
making excuses
holding on to what used to be
wondering if it was ever that great
this year I requested the day off of work
only to be denied
probably for the best
because today I just don't feel like celebrating
women have lost their rights
soon the homosexual community
then who knows
probably will keep going with this tyranny ...

Today is May the 30th and it's Memorial Day.
Americans are paying tribute to those who fought and died for the USA.
116,516 American soldiers died during World War I.
They died while fighting the enemy with their guns.
405,399 American soldiers died during World War II.
When I say that many have died for the USA, it's true.
58,220 American soldiers died while they fought in Vietnam.
Hundreds of thousands of soldiers have died for Uncle Sam.
The casualties were far less during the Persian Gulf War, only 219 Americans perished.

Please forgive us our heavenly father
God shed his grace on thee
Crown thy hood with brotherhood and Justice for All with Liberty
It was a time that defined our identity
With a date still living on in infamy
The surprise attack from a reliable ally that back in 1941 was our enemy
Monumentally we eventually found serenity

a boxer and an actor
The boxer and the actor
I saw them on the sidewalk near The Radio music Hall
in New York, Jack was telling Alan a joke
Jack Dempsey wore a sport’s jacket, brown trousers
a white shirt’s open, top button open
shiny shoes; Alan Ladd, wore a grey suit, with matching
tie (Everyone had shiny shoe trainers not yet invented)
I noticed he was considerably smaller than Jack.
I was in awe had never seen someone famous
life and up close; this was, in 1957, I was so young.
I bought a ticket to see the show at the music hall
before the movie...

State of Our Union
let’s talk about fear
of hearing excuses
for not trying harder
because all that matters
is that you’re fighting for
yourself and self-respect
you’re better than this
you owe it; to grow up
life isn’t fair
and sometimes
you have to swallow
your selfish pride
after a $2 pay cut
I am still thankful
to have a full time
job with benefits
but damned if I’m not
miffed and expressing it
right in the face
of upper management
damn near making ...
