america, dorothy parker would have cried
I love rhapsody in blue
singing in the rain
an american in paris
oh, what’s happened to you
singing in the rain
an american in paris
oh, what’s happened to you

yee hah! the old bloke in the pub said
the only reason you voted
for an authoritarian
despite all your cries of freedom!
is that y’all want to be led
for an authoritarian
despite all your cries of freedom!
is that y’all want to be led

American Churches
A pastor Jim Schulz resides there.
The one we pass along the road
whose lettered sign deplores
excuse for sin, and extols grace.
My bland and musty Anglia faith
askance observes this Pentecostal wrath,
the churches like warehouses of the soul,
the Wal-Mart for your Christ-shaped whole.
We see five churches on one block,
some pillared and tall, and some very small,
and one a single office stuck between
a van rental and nail bar, it seems.
Religion’s as common as commerce out here,
competing with...

Vale America
I asked God if the American empire was murdered by an enemy.
He said, without a single tear in his all seeing eyes.
" America died by suicide not murder."
No further explanation was required.

White China Moon
White china moon
Floating across Montana
Spy high above the clouds
In the land of the silos
Red china moon
Bobbing and weaving
Powered by the sun
About 60000 feet high
Looking for clues
White china moon
Floating by Missouri
Across the plains
Heading for where the wind goes
Red china says it’s about the weather
This balloon that strayed into our land
It’s not what they say but what they do
Can’t believe in their truth
Scramble the jets over South Carolina
6 miles...

Big Mac
seems the old bloke in the café
didn’t die, he simply went to McDonald’s,
I don’t know why, but he was far too
embarrassed to come back ..

This morning
I read a
poem about
nails tapping
into coffins
and I think
about how
many of my
siblings
hear the
same nails
tapping in
their lives
across a
pond
right
now.

A Corporation's Election
As Ms. America lies in wait
To see who'll make her great
The stakes remain very high
Some will smile; some will sigh
Some will cry; some will rejoice
Some may lose free will of choice
Will their voice lift up and sing
Or will they feel the bumble bee's sting
We're all in the ring of the U.S. of A
Fighting each other like this is M.M.A.
Outcome'll convey the state of the union
And the flag'll still sway in this Corporation
To see who'll make her great
The stakes remain very high
Some will smile; some will sigh
Some will cry; some will rejoice
Some may lose free will of choice
Will their voice lift up and sing
Or will they feel the bumble bee's sting
We're all in the ring of the U.S. of A
Fighting each other like this is M.M.A.
Outcome'll convey the state of the union
And the flag'll still sway in this Corporation

When a Woman Hopes
When a Woman Hopes
Tresses dark as prairie loess
with glint of sun diamond
peeking through her smile
Of hope on dust bowl days
When the blues are her sky
But rays of love glow in her heart
On the eve of a horizon clouded
But filled with yonder traces
Of a future-light from her maw maw’s dream
On evenings that wrap around her shoulders
With grandma’s Afghan
Woven in the crisscross of wheat tassels
For the breadbasket of her heart
Tresses dark as prairie loess
with glint of sun diamond
peeking through her smile
Of hope on dust bowl days
When the blues are her sky
But rays of love glow in her heart
On the eve of a horizon clouded
But filled with yonder traces

Nice
I thought he was nice.
Oh, that word.
But, yeah, it seemed to fit.
At first, I thought he was just lazy. A slacker.
He, along with my friend's nephew, were supposed to show up at 10 AM to help me move. The nephew called at 10:30.
"Uh, J is still sleeping. He doesn't like getting up early. I'll keep trying him."
11:45 AM: "He's awake! We should be there by 12:30."
12:30 PM: "J is moving kind of slow. But we'll be there by 1:00."
This was a 26-year-old man, not a 17-year-old...

Citizens of the Pipeline Empire
Diddy going to jail is like rewarding him for his alleged crime
It’s just giving him unlimited access to confined behind,
“Now instead of licking pink waterfalls
He will be licking dick and balls,
“Now he is running hard like a mangy dog in a shelter’s backyard
Thinking he’s free until that choking chain cut off his bark,
“That is how many of us live our everyday life
Dining on danger and dancing on the edge of the nuclear knife,
“Being only one terrorist act away from the eternal black
Now you slave...
