When Two Sides Wage War
When two sides wage war.
In this battle she was torn.
Which side did she choose?
Did she win?
Did she lose?
On that cold winter night.
When she had thought she lost the fight.
She paused for a moment.
Had she finally seen the light?
Did she see the light in herself?
Or did she see it yet again in someone else?
I guess that only time will tell.
Whether or not she escaped from her private hell.
On a cold winter night.
When she had finally lost the fight between the darkness and the light.
She paused.
She had finally realized that there was no light.
There was no longer a reason to fight.
She was as good as gone.
On an icy winter day.
When most children would be at play.
She sat there in her room.
With a constant sense of impending doom.
She felt like she would die.
She felt like she could cry.
She had no reason to continue on.
On a warm summer day.
She found another way.
Another way to continue on.
Another way to right her wrongs.
She made a promise to herself.
To herself and no one else.
That she would not give up.
That she would not give in.
That she would continue fighting until the light would win.
In this battle she was torn.
