Live and Let Live

There are some pretentious intellectual folk
That think most other peoples work is a joke
They use the big words that not all can define
Some write from the soul, some from the mind

Each has the right to their own self expression
For some it's an outlet, attempt to kill the depression
Not everyone is trying to win a Pulitzer prize
Some just write so that their sadness dies

There is room for us all in the world of art
Those who create should not be torn apart
Each to their own is what they say
Both free verse and rhyme are here to stay

If you don't have constructive advice to give
Don't comment at all, live and let live
Try not to judge and put others down
This site is for everyone there's no fucking crown.






This was inspired by a nasty comment I read doing the undiscovered poem challenge.
I have a healthy respect for the right to individual opinion, that being said there is a difference between brutally honest critique that is intended to be helpful, and shameless ego boosting through degradation.
