Not Yours
I’m no one’s responsibility,
I’m no one’s to guard,
I don’t need your protection,
I’ve already aimed for the stars
Why do you insist
On holding out your hand
Can’t you see that I’m just fine,
I’ve my own two feet to stand?
I don’t need your help
I don’t need your care
I wish you would stop looking at me
With that pitiful stare!
I’m not yours!
I can take care of myself
All those troublesome emotions,
Yeah, I placed those high on a shelf
So no need to worry,
My troubles are mine,
Stop trying to slither in
There’s no cracks to find
Why should I trust you
When my trust was proven wrong?
Why should I sing for you,
When I know you’ll just mock my song?
I’m a big girl,
I can stand on my own two feet,
And taking care of myself
Doesn’t make me weak!
I’m no one’s to guard,
I don’t need your protection,
I’ve already aimed for the stars
Why do you insist
On holding out your hand
Can’t you see that I’m just fine,
I’ve my own two feet to stand?
I don’t need your help
I don’t need your care
I wish you would stop looking at me
With that pitiful stare!
I’m not yours!
I can take care of myself
All those troublesome emotions,
Yeah, I placed those high on a shelf
So no need to worry,
My troubles are mine,
Stop trying to slither in
There’s no cracks to find
Why should I trust you
When my trust was proven wrong?
Why should I sing for you,
When I know you’ll just mock my song?
I’m a big girl,
I can stand on my own two feet,
And taking care of myself
Doesn’t make me weak!
