The Grand View

The surface of the planet,
so seeming water filled,
misguides the shallow nature
of our thinking.

So ready are we to accept
what we want to see
that we forget the civil depth
of our exposures.

Barely less than one percent
of all our home is comprised
of the life giving fluid,
and only one percent of that
instructs us to drink of it.

And this is the turn
of our solutions,
one ten thousandth do we know,
and even that a sparse hair
on the head of infinity
to know to have a place
to hang the hat
wherein dwells
the content of our dreams.

In the light of our darkness
lies a grand view.

The unfiltered escapade of life
hurtles lessons made for titans
and we, small in our form,
stand the solar flares
as fragile as the ice in spring,
and upon the masquerade
of consciousness
I see you there
and wonder at the mystery
of your being,
and think…

what is the chance
that even a faintest glimpse
might be mine?

And I relish the thought
on the way
into naked space.
