Gauntlet
I made it past your initial firewalls
reincarnated into a plethora of annihilations
meant to send me running.
You rejected me and told me scram
and how you hated everything
about me and still I came at you.
The gravitational pull of your
sensation leaked out like a radiation.
You scowled at me and bore teeth,
hungry to tear my flesh and soul.
Still, I kept advancing, eon
after aimless trace and insecurity, your
slashing with a vicious derangement,
lashing out under a black sky.
At last, 10 thousand lifetimes fused,
our eyes unattended were thrown in
in a heap; you fell into my arms, and in
a broken whisper gasped, "What took you?"
