A glimpse into my thoughts

I close my eyes and there you are,
Instantly 3000 miles is not so far,
I see your face, your smile so bright,
And when I do, everything feels just right.

You hear my voice talking about little dogs,
so many times I sound like a frog,
We talk, we laugh, all night long,
And when you laugh it is like a song.

In your heart there is so much pain,
Never to be washed away, no matter how heavy the rain,
I know it is there, but I try to forget,
But every night I am filled with regret.

I have no words that make any sense,
Or at least none that will not cause offence,
I feel my heart beating and burning,
For it is filled with so much yearning.

What I wish I can not say,
Even when it is the same every day,
What I feel I do not know,
What I know I can not show.
