Freedom

[We have freedom fighters
from all walks of life
fighting for the 'big' freedoms
at home and abroad,
in foreign conflicts
and on closer-to-home
controversial issues

Somewhere along the line
the 'little' ones get lost,
taken from us over time]

Smoking where
and when
I want

To be able
to get my release,
at the risk of sounding...
no, fuck the junkie stigma

To get my fix

My feel good,
get back my life,
forget about any day-to-day strife
fix

To have the freedom
to loose my worries
in a haze of smoke,
finding peace
in any and every situation

To numb the pain
without inexplicably being told
to feel some measure
of Shame!
by any number
of insufferable assholes
put in power by others of their ilk

It's the 'inconsequential' indignities
that eat away at me,
lending that little bit
to the, already incomprable,
mounds of shit.
