Kessler

Kessler makes his way down the creaking stairs of his two story terrace house.

Widowed and alone, and ever so frail, Kessler carries a jar tucked under one arm.

Placing the jar on a shelf under the stairs, tucked in a corner with due care.

A thump, a knock, a bang on the door, as the door flies open and Kessler falls to the floor.

4 thugs wielding baseball bats enter his home, as easy prey he lived on his own.

Kicked and beaten the thugs start to smile; they smell of cheap whisky and haven’t bathed for a while.

One grabs Money, the other grabs a clock, one thinks it’s funny and one wants to stop.

In the corner of his eye a thug catches a glimpse; the stair cupboard door is left open, as Kessler starts to twitch.

Attracted by a strange glowing light, a small throbbing spark, a kaleidoscope mystery, a rainbow in the dark,

A thug removes the jar from the shelf and holds it high above his arms, sensing its power, with this item he could empower

A fight, a scuffle breaks out as the 4 thug’s battle, broken teeth and bones began to rattle

Kessler smiles to himself on the floor, it’s always this way as he already foresaw.

The jar drops and smashes into a million tiny fragments, the energy within released as time stands still and all motion have ceased.

Life itself begins to whiteout, absorbed in to the pulsating light, as entropy’s   tentacles began thrashing throughout.

And as it comes to pass the universe is engulfed in light so incredibly bright.

And Kessler picks himself up as time is reset, as a caretaker is cared for loved and kept

Because this was a story of a man named Kessler, who came so far, because he kept the spirit of the universe inside a jar.
