Absolutely Nothing

The question
that we often hear
is, "What is this about?"
or it just might sound like this
and, "What are you?"
they shout.

The question might
sound somewhat strange
but it means the same.

What have you done
or where have you been
or what did you do
or what is that
or what is the point
or what is the matter
and the answer
is always the same:
"Nothing."

In Buddhist terms,
no independence,
for nothing stands alone.  

Everything
is interdependent,
and nothing's
free to roam.

"This is here or there
by choice,"
is to say it has moved a thing,
for no two things can occupy
the very same space
and so one
of them must move.  

In any case
we need each thing
that sits
just where it is,
for if itself,
just what it is,
were to disappear,
the rush to fill its place
would kill those
within ear's shot
and crush them
with its wealth.

So, this is how
it came to be
that nothing
ruled the day,
for when you take
that something-minded
out from point of view,
nothing is the only thing
that's left
right there
for you.
