Droplet
Sparkling softly on a blade of grass
Sits a drop of dew teetering on the edge
It joyously basks in Spring's fresh glow
Reflecting multi-hued patterns across my face.
I lay upon the aromatic grass,
And watch as the droplet quivers in excitement
I inhale slowly,
The breeze honey sweet in my lungs
I contemplate the perfect clear orb,
fat and pure before me,
And am contented by the simplicity
of the beauty surrounding me.
I reach out and tip the emerald stalk,
letting it roll lazily onto my finger.
I behold it's magnificence for just a moment
A priceless jewel in it's own right
As it evaporates in the morning sun,
I smile, feeling blessed
To have witnessed such a flawless entity
So often overlooked in our busy society
Sits a drop of dew teetering on the edge
It joyously basks in Spring's fresh glow
Reflecting multi-hued patterns across my face.
I lay upon the aromatic grass,
And watch as the droplet quivers in excitement
I inhale slowly,
The breeze honey sweet in my lungs
I contemplate the perfect clear orb,
fat and pure before me,
And am contented by the simplicity
of the beauty surrounding me.
I reach out and tip the emerald stalk,

I behold it's magnificence for just a moment
A priceless jewel in it's own right

This is vastly out of the norm for me. I was feeling a bit philosophical, and maybe even a bit giddy. Hope you enjoy it. It's as close to happy and cheerful that your ever going to get from me. This one goes out to Tim

I assumed as much! Nicely done however, you seem to be able to travel from all realms of poetic themes with the same talent and skill, I envy your ability to lace together your poems with your diction skills.
It all fits so nicely. Vegan.

Oh this one was mesmerizing! Your illustrations through words brings focus our sight. The eyes indicate the antiquity of the soul. I absolutely love this, Annie! :-)

It supposedly takes great talent to be able to write something different for a change. You've nailed it girl. :D To a T.
I've had an imagery like this in my mind for a while and you've described it with words, I absolutely love it. So descriptive and almost what could I say better than...vivid
BRAVO

Its like stitches of excellence were embroidered by the hands of the queen witch (excuse my religion) herself.

A very interesting, philosophical, poem that I can see took a great deal of thought and depth to create! I was simply captivated and enchanted by it. Great work, Caliban! :D

Wonderfull, hooked me on the first lines.
Very vivid, painted well with your words.
The joy and magic of a dimple dewdrop.
Or a simple drop of rain that falls down....
There is great beauty in simple things
Your poem proves it

Really really beautiful. The language is clear, and mesmerizing. It creates a very clear sensation, and the images are right in front of you. I'm not a big fan of the final lines, as I don't think they are needed. But that's just me. I think it works fine without the comment at the end. Seems to really just distract from the wonderful language and images of the rest of the piece. Sometimes poems can simply be a description of a moment, and I think that is what this does very well.

Your ability to use imagery is astonishing and the poem itself was just perfect. Kind of mad I haven't been following you :p
