Diana’s Song
- Diana’s Song -
A ship there was in the void of the stars,
Where a people lost journeyed very far…
They remembered the bite of fear and fire.
But two hearts beat with a single desire…
Diana, you were as much a rebel as was I.
You had a bold heart and a sparkling eye!
How tightly you held me when they came,
To end all our rebellion in Heaven’s name!
A ship of fools with no place left to roam.
On a sea of night with no water or foam…
When the war of the gods raged too long,
Diana and I sang out one last defiant song!
So much they remembered of things I did,
But naught of the love that within me hid…
Blinder than I had been in my old ambition.
Diana, you wept when I went to perdition!
Wait for me my love, for all things do end.
In the next era of time, we will meet again!
How tightly you held me until you let go…
And how cold is space when winds blow.
A ship of fools with no place left to roam.
On a sea of night with no water or foam…
When the war of the gods raged too long,
Diana and I sang out one last defiant song!
My soul was parted from the flesh I wore,
But they could not take, the love I bore…
It burns still hot within my maidenly breast.
Though fallen from Heaven I need no rest!
Diana, I wonder what form you now wear;
I like to think it is lovely beyond compare.
The next era has come, and I think of you,
When the starlight glistens, softly and true!
A ship of fools with no place left to roam.
On a sea of night with no water or foam…
When the war of the gods raged too long,
Diana and I sang out one last defiant song!
A ship there was in the void of the stars,
Where a people lost journeyed very far…
They remembered the bite of fear and fire.
