It's Just Business

We all know
that in the end
they are going
to hold us all hostage
financially
and say the reason
they have to raise the cost
of gasoline to $10 a gallon
is because
we wouldn't let them drill
in our front yard
and frack our swimming pools,
and dredge up the creeks
and redeem the tar sands.  

They have to be able
to squeeze every last drop out
of the ground
and if they can't
it is all our fault.  

But even then,
eventually,
when oil runs out,
they will then go
for the next non-renewable,
because it was never
about service
and it was always
about the money
and if
the land goes barren
and looks like
a bomb dropped on it
there is no other recourse
to make money
other than
to destroy the planet
you are living on,
right?
