I'll Always Open Doors For You

Wherever we go I always open doors for you
For you are my lady and the love of my life

When we walk on the sidewalk I stay towards the street
Protecting you from splashing puddles when it rains

Pulling out your seat for you at a restaurant
Then resting my hand on the back of your chair

At dinner you like to tell me what you want
So I can tell the waiter and order for you

When we share an umbrella I hold it out over you
So that you be under it and can stay dry

During stormy weather I go and get the car
So you can wait inside where its safe

Now some might think these things antiquated
Or that I do not respect you as an equal

To them I say nothing could be further from the truth
I see you as my partner, standing deservedly by my side

You see I am an officer and a gentleman
Perhaps a relic from a day gone by

But I know that you adore these things I do
That they are partly why you fell in love with me
