The Time of Standing

After multiple attempts
to hijack the subject,
no real answer is given
for Chick-fil-A's inconsistency
in applying principle, law,
or moral outrage concerning gay marriage
or any other behavior.

Naming marriage
as a traditional front
while not confronting the host
of other behaviors
of equal magnitude is merely
an inconsistency at best.

The reason: Tradition.

And yet your power is new
and wages have only been flat for 40 years.

And yet women vote,
blacks have civil rights,
the earth is not flat,
and there are a host
of traditional concepts
that have been legally changed
not to mention abortion.

This entire program
of rhetoric will have its day
along with the legalization of pot.

The only real tradition
in jeopardy is the power structure
of bigots and petty tyrants,
and your days are numbered.

You call that it is unfair
that you pay 80%
of the taxes
when you make
80% of the money?

You call
for the abolishment
of democracy,
with its one man and one vote
and you prefer
that those in power
make all of the decisions
and yet the UN needs
to step back
because Americans
can think
for themselves?

You call to end collective bargaining.

You have built a military army
to remove all protesters.

You seek to end your own taxation
by dissolving the death tax and capital gains taxes.

Taxes that only kick in
after millions
and are so low already
that they are a special class
of rat holes.

You hide behind
your gated communities
and private schools
with your tax loopholes
and scream
that the poor are draining you dry
and yet your own bailouts
would have paid
the national welfare policy
for 42 years.

In the end,
you made your billions
and have used
the youth and vitality
of the nation
like a disposable platter
from which you've laundered the resources
of oil, wood, gas, minerals, nutrients,
and wildlife, time and time again,
and when we say
that we've had enough
abuse and hubris
you call us unAmerican.

You say you want
less government
but in fact
you want more control
over others
and to be controlled less and less,
deregulated but regulating the access
the average man has
to education, transportation,
fuel, resources, land,
and even telling him
whom he can or cannot legally love,
and this is your idea
of less government.

In the mean time
you make more
do more
have more
go more
and want more
like an insatiable tick
that would drain our life's blood
to the last.

And you call this jealousy?

Only if what you have now
once belonged to us,
which you know it did.

Who will serve the powers
that be when you've killed the last servant?

The next one
in line, Fool!  You!
