The sorrow of an eternal loss
Our names
I wrote in the sand
then I got lost in the sea
a look towards the ocean
which so well represents
the lapse of our existence
Dawn found us, one day,
embraced and sinking
after a stormy night
as an unexpected melody
announced the soft glow
on the night of our souls
A desperate love
has grown strongly,
overcoming the fears
and distrust,
new delusions
and abyssal relapses
How many obstacles
and doubts
have we overcome?
I wished to offer you
something better,
of this dragging us
in survival, but...
I tried and failed
"Never mind,"
you told me
"What counts is that
we are still alive,
together, you and me!"
Is a great fortune
but so impermanent...
And the more I think
the more my distress grows
Because about death,
what most dismays
is the sorrow
of an eternal loss
and not be able
to embrace you anymore
Our names
I wrote in the sand,
and soon were erased
by the foam of the waves.

These are lines that I have felt a lot, when I wrote them.
("Bachi" no, is "baci")
Grazie e un bacetto anche a te

*tears* beautifully done Luca. I love how you used the ocean to create the imagery of loss better than most of the sorrowful laments I've heard about the ocean. Really, I've listened to and read so many Gaelic poems and songs expressing the loss of a loved one and the ocean. This one definitely competes with all of them.
you should listen to Ailein Duinn with the translation. The Capercaille version is the best.:D

I think I know what you mean. I lived in Ireland and I was definitely influenced by the Gaelic culture. Thanks for the comparison but do not think I deserve.
Ailein Duinn? I will try in the net.
A hug and thanks again.

Eternal is a long time: Luca. Dont allow it to come yet, love and live...rewrite the names on the face of eternity.

Mary hold the dying Christ
In one last embrace
We too shall be at the point
When, with whom, we do not yet know
Only that love is fleeting
It flies faster than life
And when love is over
A part of us is dying too
Never again to be embraced
By the one we loved the best
Great poem, as always
In one last embrace
We too shall be at the point
When, with whom, we do not yet know
Only that love is fleeting
It flies faster than life
And when love is over
A part of us is dying too
Never again to be embraced
By the one we loved the best
Great poem, as always

You're absolutely right.
Meet someone to love and be loved,it's nice and difficult at the same time ...
When we lose her, or him, it's as if a part of us dies too.
However, if we still alive we always hope to find a replacement...
But if we die, how could we rejoined with our loved?
Losted eternally.
A kiss by your faithful friend from overseas

It never crossed my mind, the ability to love in the afterlife, this just proves that emotions are eternal :).
