Seventeen to Seventy
Curse this shattered mirror
For showing me such a dilapidated figure
Nothing left but a broken down man
Suspended in space
A soul in absolute atrophy
Crumbling away like barren rubble
A ruined citadel wasting away from years of battering abuse
Eyes so hollow and empty
Deep pools of inky waste
Drowning the light beneath a frozen sky
Heart strings all unraveled and knotted
Nothing left but the black, gooey center
Bubbling without its wrappings
Corrupted and tarnished by all the lies and manipulation
Emaciated and weak
Struggling to keep my head above the surface
Gasping for air to breathe
But alas there's nothing there
Caught in a vacuum
And falling under
The mirror shows the truth
That's hidden behind brazen lies.
