Sun Rise, Sun Set

Sometimes things must be dark so we can see the light
Just like at night, when the stars decorate the sky
And during the day when I’ve dreamt of chasing clouds away
My mind can tend to get lost while time just flies by

But right before the sun sets there is a certain anticipation
An array of colors weaves right before the sun is gone
The light blue gives away to a darker shade for a new view
Until the hues begin to change again right before dawn

I have breathed the cool air and felt the hot afternoon glare
When every step I took made my mind and heart hit the mark
I have run before the sun rise; I have run while the sun sets
And both have felt like a balance between the light and dark
