Over the Mo⁰n
I’m absolutely over the mo⁰n for her
The way she looks at me she makes me smi)e
And though time flies by quickly all around us
My heart is happy I got to see my grandchild
Luna makes me wonder about who she’ll be
Which roads she’ll take to reach her destination
What she’ll discover about herself in her journey
Where she will find her fire and motivation
Moonshine’s eyes are like the stars in the sky
They make you wonder how far she’ll go
Because the future belongs to her, to them
The promising hopeful generation of tomorrow
But for now, I’ll just enjoy her hugs and laughs

I love the clever inclusion of characters here! There is NOTHING like a grandchild! I am so on the level, Wally! I get to see and have dinner with mine every day of the week and I am so grateful. He will be 15 in a few weeks, so will be driving soon and stepping into his own life shortly after. Time is so precious and flies so fast - cherish every second! xo

I had this piece in process for a long while just never got around to it until now.
Grandparenting is so different, I look at it more fondly, perhaps thinking the way that my grandma looked at me. I didn't get a chance to know my grandfathers, which is why I want to be more involved. But yes, time is precious and we have to enjoy every minute we can.

Great homage and ode to family, as it may seem. The positivity in this is connectable to anyone with family. You did a great job of displaying format of word and construction while exhibiting emotional disposition to something you observed - poetry indeed! Thanks for sharing.

Thank you so much Connotation. I think that at this age, I have more patience and understanding for parenting. You're right, poetry gives us that freedom of expression to preserve and leave something behind.
