Letter to the guy on the train

Hey man  
I hope I didn't make you uncomfortable  
I wasn't staring because you're weird looking  
or because I wanted to get in your pants  
not that I'm sure you saw me  
while playing games on your phone  
 
You have a really nice face  
and I have a sketch book in my bag  
and let's be honest  
this 2 hour train journey is boring as fuck  
so I thought I'd draw you  
 
Portraits aren't really my forte  
but I'm pretty happy with the way  
my scribbling captured the sleepy  
downcast look of your eyes  
the bow of your lips  
and the fuzziness of your beard  
 
You'll never know the erratic beating  
of my heartbeat  
as I warred between kindness  
and introversion  
ripping the sketch from my book  
to give it to you  
without coming across as creepy  
as I said "hey, I got bored  
and sketched you  
I hope you don't mind"  
before I fled back to my seat  
and watched your lips  
curve into a smile  
before you turned back  
to your phone  
and we continued this  
train journey in silence
