vanquished
decrepit darkness, at my front door
with thoughts of lust and nothing more
insidious need, I fear, crept up
and I shew it away
inside the dusky, drool
cobwebbed and forgotten
slithering through the night
its mouth agape
a crone, spoke a spell against me
dark of day
bleak in hate
a turnkey and a latch
do not let this woman pass
secreted treachery, upon my bodice lain
sulking in the shadows resenting my beauty
its faith in the dark arts
it utter more enchantments
seek and search, upon thou brow sweat
lonely of soul, to wander
without finding your true love
my anger rose, like a tempest
jester of fate you ugly whore
behind me witch
speaking on the winds my voice carry
my lover to respond
on baited breath I waited
with whispers upon the dawn, I saw him
looking forlorn but well cared for
turn of beauty, raven's flight
come unto me tonight
the spell kiss my lips
and a sweet lass appeared
the wicked crone vanished
never to speak again
