WHAT IS POETRY? (2)

I
am often asked, "What
is poetry?"
In attempts to give
academic answers that
I rarely try to practice nor
can practice very well;
I let my heart and soul answer.
NO
I cannot and would not dare
to answer for anyone else.
Poetry is like beauty, "It
is in the eyes the beholder":
IT IS IN HOW AND WHAT
IT MAKES ME FEEL--both
to write and receive.
POETRY
takes a desire and makes it  real.
POETRY takes the soft
and makes it hard.
POETRY takes the dry
and makes it wet.
POETRY turns fears
into bold expressions.
POETRY creates imagination
where fear and reluctance hide.
POETRY takes control of my
fingers when I touch the keyboard.
TODAY
poetry is YOU, yes YOU, filling
every cell in my body with LOVE
and DESIRE for YOU.
MAY
I write YOU today? PLEASE!
