Crash
Calloused hands built the world we know
It takes manpower to maintenance luxury
Who cleans shit and shovels all the snow
Spending lifetimes knee deep in drudgery
Privilege in no means suggests one is wise
Unqualified humans are selected next to rise
Strong backs provided all the heavy lifting
Made to carry stones on splintered bones
Who’s on the ground as the tide is shifting
Fighting for country in multiple time zones
Heartless leaders aren’t capable of empathy
Constantly playing the victim for the sympathy
Snuggled in a fat bed in an oversized house
Not a care in that empty head except cash
When needed they quiet as a church mouse
Leaving society broken in a free falling crash

Author's Note
Late night musing. Thinking out loud again. That last verse happened while listening to, Rage Against The Machine doing a cover of, "The Ghost Of Tom Joad." Hip Hop Vibe, well I tried anyways. Appreciate you.

Welcome to the New World Order
Families sleepin' in their cars out in the southwest
No job, no home, no peace, no rest, no rest."

I'll say it again Damian haha, it's one crazy mixed up world, it's been happening since time began... I don't know about you guys but here, the working man will work all his life for a measly pension then die, whilst the rich, well you know ❤️

Outstanding poem Damian. Will our world ever enjoy peace & harmony? I doubt it. Great band you referenced and great song. The original and the cover.

Thanks so much for reading and your kind words, Keith. Always honored to make your RL. Glad you connected with the write, my friend. Great song, I like RATM's version better. I'm hit or miss with Springsteen. I respect the hell out of him, he's a tremendous song writer. But some work for me, others don't. Appreciate you.

I agree. The way Springsteen sings sounds like he's constipated. His 70's material is quite good. His lyrics are magnificent!

Re. Crash
It's beyond tragic how so many of our fellow countrymen have let themselves be terrified of Marxism and related social studies, because if they were to investigate those topics, they would discover, as I have, that it's possible to give a shit about the value of work and the worker, without necessarily becoming a communist.
And just where did Marx inherit his ideas from?
Turns out folks have been giving a shit about inequality for a long time, and the famous equal sign itself was invented in 1557 by Robert Recorde, a Welsh physician and mathematician.

Thanks so much for reading and your kind words, MS. Glad you connected with the write, my friend. I agree, wholeheartedly. Thanks for the history, I love information. Did not know that. It's like everything is coming back. People are being encouraged to inform on each other in this administration. Reminds me of McCarthyism, better dead than red, and all the bullshit. Just saying. Appreciate you.

Really excellent write. The average working guy bares the burdens
of his class. And the rich get richer never giving a second thought
to the middle class hard workers in this country.
You always have such intelligent writes on the harsh reality of
society

They're so incredibly "me" focused they can't see past the pot of gold. Without all those they consider beneath them that they're so busy trying to eradicate...who's going to wipe their ass or fluff their pillows? Fools... But you're no fool, Damian. Well said!

So many people want money, the more the better. Look down on the ones who are less or are poor.
I wonder: when your time has come, do you want to look back at your life and think "I was rich" or "I had joy, meaningful connections, made this world a bit better" Awesome piece of ink, my friend.

Thanks so much for reading and your kind words, Duende. Always honored to make your RL. Glad you connected with the write, my friend. I would choose joy, all the money in the world doesn't equal joy. Great point, I agree with you, my friend. Appreciate you.
