Cigarette Redux
Your cigarette
Smelled like the late 1970's
Camel unfiltered
At the bar at the beachfront
A certain kind of haze
My eyes fell on you
Talking Heads on the jukebox
Life During Wartime played
Sweat, glaze, punk freedom
Defiance and glory
Our late youth unfolding
Into something nevermore
Smelled like the late 1970's
Camel unfiltered
At the bar at the beachfront
A certain kind of haze
My eyes fell on you
Talking Heads on the jukebox
Life During Wartime played
Sweat, glaze, punk freedom
Defiance and glory
Our late youth unfolding
Into something nevermore

Gritty NYC, late 70's. CBGB's, Max's Kansas City, The Knitting Factory, The Bottom Line and many others graced the streets of this town that had so much to offer.
Great retro piece. Nice!

Yeah, those were the days.
Our days
Remember them like yesterday.
Especially seeing Talking Heads at Forest Hills circa 1986 when they played
"Burning Down the House" twice in the same concert. THAT was a night to remember...
Thx Keith

We all seem to remember a certain period in our lives with a fondness. We think that it's periods where we are our freest, it doesn't naturally correspond with an age. We mesh with the vibe of the times, music, fashion, and people. To cool

Yes, that's very true.
It's what we have that stands up point and reminds us of a time when we thought we knew it all and were invincible..
BIG THANKS ME !!

Wow, what a great comment Fia.
I like how people dressed back in that Era.
When I worked in broadcasting I wore a suit and a tie everyday to work.
Now I wear jeans and a sweater in the winter and a t-shirt in the summer.
Time and Space lovely Fia
Thanks

Yes, the stench of 1970s, still lingers today.

Smoke hanging in the bar mixing with the raw of the ocean making a volatile combo.
Those were good times, not too many responsibilities, doing the artist life.
Easy to get laid back then, chick's digging the colors and vibe ...
Thx J

The bands of the early seventies really played the bass. simple riffs post-psychedilic rock.
Drugs were legal until 1971 in the UK. I was unlucky to be born in the 90's.
The music of the past is legendary.
You were lucky to exprience it.
Regards
James

Yes
I was around for much of the trendsetting bands. Seemed like everyday something else great was getting released. I was fortunate. Music hasn't been the same for me for a long time buy I still find a lot to listen to. I like all genres so it's cool..
