The photo pulls back the layers of time
In it I’m a stranger I can’t recognize
The form of the figure looks familiar
But the blues eyes now grey seem unrecognizable
Smile on the face is alien to me
All I know now is a scowl and fear
The mop of dirty blond innocence
Now sparse grey populates the surface
Memories rush in to complete the scene
But they won’t stay because memories are fleeting
I don t know why he resembles a younger version
But he does and I can’t complete the picture
