A Flowering of Compassion
She is the red glow
Of a silk lantern
Lettered by the Chinese heart glyph
That is the shadow language of her soul
Each salt-crystal in the saline drops
Of her tears
Is a flower of compassion
For sentient suffering
Afloat on the fragrance
Of her river
My heart is adrift in the Patchouli
Of her midnight sachet

Hello John,
This is like an origami of words. It unfolds opens up though in one image it has or leaves so many rippled effects.
It reminded me of some films I have seen, and also of the Chines script, their tradition of writing on rice paper and such. Their poetic structures are quite unique, havent read that much of it but I saw a documentary about this one. Greetings and blessings for your day!

Thanks so much my friend. I began reading Chinese poetry during my first year in college. The subtle beauty of it hooked me. I have a movie video that has people writing it with a brush on rice paper. The delicate nature of the Chinese calligraphy being written is a wonder to watch. Glad you enjoyed my poem.
