Rejected

My heart and soul were
shattered
The moment you rejected me
As your mom
When you banned me from your life
My life changed forever.

I could no longer claim
That I was a good mother
Because who leaves a good mother behind?

Years have passed
And I know in my heart
That I was a good mom
But I was rejected anyway..

My heart is still healing
And my soul is still cracked
But I'm learning how to live
My life.

And I breathe through the pain.
