A Love Story
Love ferociously.
Just don't attach.
It's attachment that causes the pain, not the love.It's the desire to own,to keep, that waters the seeds and feeds the weeds of our own discontent.Our own broken heart.
How stupid are we?
Go ahead attach, attach to anything and when detachment arrives we will ache for days,weeks, months and years.Our lives will dissolve in a torrent of tears.We couldn't see that our attachment was stronger than our love.
We are all stupid!
Love, true love, never can and never will be taken from us, even if the object of our love departs. It's the attachment that pisses and shits on our hearts.
It's a simple choice,
without a catch.

By 'attachment' are you associating that word with being controlling, by any chance? Isn't commitment part of being attached? Committed & attached only cos you both wish it to be, will always work, my friend, surely? I didn't call you 'Shirley' btw (old airplane movie gag 😉)
