A Freeze Dried Corpse
He used the same pleasantries to entertain me
As the lies he used to sustain me
My black butterfly heart yearning
A Devil in disguise
He became a god in my eyes
And when I required more than he could give
His pride suffocated both of us
As the lies he used to sustain me
My black butterfly heart yearning
A Devil in disguise
He became a god in my eyes
And when I required more than he could give
His pride suffocated both of us

This is a great piece of poetry. Dark, real and hard hitting. To the point. Nice work Mary.

Dear M,
Succinct and shot from the hip, this write has me tripping down a lane I always find bumpy. He sounds very familiar. I think I know this guy 😏
The feeling of suffocation is the worst. The feeling of a love that won’t be is worse-r. Great piece. Tons said with such an economy of words. H🌷

Sigh, I think a lot of us know him, unfortunately.
Thank you, Honoria.
I hope you have a fabulous holiday.
