Dr Zeus
The earth, and I don't mean the planet, provides us with everything and I mean everything.
We are all made from the earth.Look around you,.can you see anything that doesn't come out of the earth?Even the person sitting in front of you is made from earthly elements.
Like every caring parent,the earth not the planet, will keep giving until it can give no more.It won't stop caring, its just that there will be nothing left to give.
The Lorax knew the truth but we haven't listened.Santa fills his sack with earthly things.Chritmas tables are set with earthly things.We gorge ourselves on earthly things not realising we are eating our futures.
We've completely and utterly forgotten where we came from and how connected we all are.Not in some abstract way but through the very ground we all walk upon.That homeless guy is your family,that broken child is your family,the confused teenagers they're your family.All deserve the one thing the earth can't provide....LOVE especially at this time of year.On Christmas day just, love each other or die.
So stop for just one moment on Christmas day and think about someone else.Think about things that matter,really matter,not the turkey,the gifts,the wine,think about our earth,the great provider and think about your role in its struggles.
I could go on but I'll let some others speak for me.
Somewhere between the Lorax and the Grinch is what Christmas needs and what it means.
